The 5 Houses of Chi
For thousands of years, Chinese Medicine has used a metaphor of the 5 Elements Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood to identify imbalances and then balance energy flow in the 12 main meridians of acupuncture. Using points called Command Points on each meridian that relate that meridian to each of the elements, Chinese Medicine recognized early on the interconnectedness of all things. Because of this holographic approach to balancing energy, it was a natural match with the philosophy of Applied Physiology, and was adopted early on in the development of AP.
The 5 Houses of Chi is the Applied Physiology balancing method using traditional Chinese Medicine rules of 5 Element energy movement, with a kinesiology twist. To begin with, building on skills obtained in the Agape Quest and other AP workshops, the practitioner identifies imbalances based on specific issues rather than general 5 Element energy flow. These issues may result in complex patterns of energy flow imbalance, leading to the identification of numerous acupuncture command points requiring stimulation.
In this workshop, the student will learn:
Patterns and locations of the Command Points of Chinese Medicine
Rules of movement of energy in the Chinese 5 Element system
How to examine complex patterns of imbalance and choose which points to use for balancing
How Command Points may be used to go deeper into the hologram using concepts from the Agape Quest
Other means of integrating material learned from previous workshops with the 5 Houses of ChiAs one of the early workshops developed in the Applied Physiology series, this method of balancing still holds up as a main technique in the Applied Physiologist's arsenal of modalities. By marrying the traditional tenents of the centuries old techniques of Chinese Medicine with the body's ability to specify through muscle monitoring precisely what pathways it would like balanced, the results achieved using the 5 Houses of Chi method are often quite remarkable.
This module is usually combined with another advanced Applied Physiology module, such as Polarity. The combination provides a powerful 1-2 punch in an exciting 5 day format for the professional kinesiology practitioner.
